1. I witnessed rough seas like the ones depicted sailing aboard the Liberty Ship, African King , when I was six years old (1956) with my Grandfather,
    Captain Christopher Cerruti. We sailed from the Port of New York to Algeria. The memories of that voyage sparked my love and respect for the sea.

    • While my memories are not from salt water, they were still interesting. We have family pictures of me in my buggy at age 8 months. Every summer we spent a month aboard a steam boat hauling ore, coal, grain and any other bulk cargo the office could find. At 18 I began working aboard the ‘boats’. That lasted until was 23 and went ashore in pursuit of other interests. The memories are both vivid and fantastic.
