This is a heart-warming story of the so-called BLT – Bear, Lion and Tiger – Gang. As babies this affectionate trio of animals was abused by an Atlanta drug dealer who kept them in the basement of this apartment. They are now inseparable. Though the efforts of the Noah’s Ark Sanctuary they have been able to lead the life that animals should. Aside from the pathos & tragedy of their initial abuse, it is the story of their subsequent bond which is truly evocative of what unconditional friendship & love should be.
These three animals are the most unlikely group of animals that one will ever find. Their bound arose due to a shared background of fear and abuse which bonded them together. Leo the African Lion, Baloo the Black Bear, and Shere Khan the Bengal Tiger are today truly inseparable.
As babies, the threesome were rescued from the basement of an Atlanta drug dealer’s home when it was raided by authorities. They were starving, traumatized and well as suffering from bacterial infections. While at the drug dealer’s home, Baloo had been mistreated so profoundly that the harness that was put on him had grown into his skin.
Since then, they were brought to Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary where they’ve lived in the same habitat together for 13 years. The only time that the three were separated was when Baloo the Black Bear underwent surgery. The two cats were distraught and cried for the bear’s return when he was at the vet’s. Since then, no one has separated the group.
They had clearly bonded during their earliest memories, and never want to be apart. Now they live together as if they were brothers of the same species. They play together, nuzzle one another, and are extremely affectionate to one another.The threesome are the only lion, tiger, and bear combination living together in the entire world.
They are just truly exceptional. Humans could truly learn from the bond that these three have. No one ever told them that they could not love one another in spite of their difference, so they did just that. So now, even all these years later, they continue to do so.
