We are all aware that the South African Post Office is in disarray. Now there is photographic proof of the chaos that reigns in the sorting centres. Unlike the United Kingdom which promises delivery within 24 hours in the UK, South Africans can no longer expect a parcel within two months.
Amazon in the UK made two separate shipments on the 30th January 2015 to me. I have only now on the 11th April 2015 received one of them. What has happened to the second?
At least I can be grateful for small mercies with at least one of them not having been stolen. In addition I received it within the same year unlike the pervious DVD which was shipped in September 2014 but was received mid way through February 2015!
Is it too much to expect the Post Office to deliver a parcel promptly within a week?
Hi Dean
Hence my reluctance to place a long delayed order on Amazon. I know I asked the question of a courier service but you mentioned it was prohibitive. Perhaps Amazon can come to party to assist, or is that wishful thinking?
Not long before the whole thing collapses completely.Went to renew a vehicle licence the other day, notification was received via the PO. At teh licencing counter I was advised that I had to renew the licence of the other vehicle first before renewing the one for which a notification was received! Had to go home, fill out a new form and queue again.
Of course the Unions responsible for the demise of the PO are ignorant of technological advances. People are switching to digital magazines and books. I still prefer the paper version!
More and more corporations are sending invoices and other documents via e-mail. Talking about burying your head in the sand!
